Best Practices (2018-19 to 2021-22)
There are numbers of Practices in the college, but the following are the best practices conducted by NSS and IQAC of the college.
Best Practice –I
1. Title of the practice: Blood Donation Camp.
Blood Donation Camp has been organized in the college since its opening year. It is one of the best practices in the college. On the occasion of the birthday of our institute’s Treasurer Hon. Santosh Patil Danve, the college organizes Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with Lokmanya Blood Bank, Aurangabad on 15th Dec. every year. Averagely 40 bags of blood are collected through this camp.
2. Goals
* To create awareness of blood donation as social responsibility among the students.
*To know the importance of Blood.
3. Context
As blood donation is the social responsibility of every person, our college motivates and encourages students to donate blood through camps. We can save needy patient’s life by donating blood. It is also beneficial to the donors. It creates new cells in the blood which makes a person medically and physically fit. All these things are communicated with the students, staff members, and also off-campus people. As a result the students, staff members, and other people actively participate in Blood Donation Programme.
4. The Practice
Some days prior to Blood Donation Camp, the college communicates with Jan Kalyan Blood Bank, Jalna about organizing a camp in the college campus. The students, staff members, and off-campus people are informed through handbill and orally. The importance of blood donation is counseled to donors.
5. Evidence of Success
The evidence of the success of the practice is the maximum participation of donors. About 40 blood bags are collected in each camp. Year by year the no. of donors is increasing.
6. Problem Encountered and Resources Required
* Misunderstanding among the people about Blood Donation.
* Many people are mentally not prepared for Blood Donation.
* Effective awareness about blood donation is required.
7. Notes
We are happy about this best practice which is part of social responsibility. Severe need of blood can be covered through this program. We can save many lives by donating blood.
Best Practice –II
1. Title of the practice: Interdisciplinarity
Interdisciplinary Study is an academic program or process seeking to synthesize broad perspectives, knowledge streams, diverse skills, and interconnections. As per National Education Policy 2020, Interdisciplinary Education is important to all-round development of the student. Through this practice, all the departments of the college organize a special program for students to introduce the basic concepts, ideas, theories and new trends related to the various subjects.
2. Goals
* To encourage and facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations between the faculties and students from different disciplines.
* To expand student understanding by enhancing communication skills
3. Context
As per goals and mission of the institution, the college develops new practices for the overall development of the students. Apart from curricular activities, this practice encourages and enables the students to learn communications skills, business skills, and new trends in various subjects. The college has three UG programs, B.A., B.Sc., and B. Com. and thirty-five subject experts in various subjects. Knowledge and new trends in the subjects is easy to share with all the students. Communication in English, Computing skills, Share Market and other trends in Commerce, innovations in Science are major areas which can be communicated with the students.
4. The Practice
At the beginning of the academic year students are informed about this practice. The IQAC gives detailed information about practice to all the departments by issuing a notice. The schedule is prepared and communicated to each department. Generally, one activity is conducted in a month.
5. Evidence of Success The evidence of success of any practice is considered on the basis of its outcome. In some practices the outcome reflects gradually. In this practice, the students acquire knowledge and develop skills. It will definitely be useful to students in their future.
6. Problem Encountered and Resources Required.
- Limited funds for organizing activities and programs.
- Different disciplines talk in different languages.
7. Notes It is a very useful practice in the context of student’s development. The practice offers knowledge of diverse streams at one time.
