About Department

The Department of Geography at MoreshwarArts, Science, and Commerce College is renowned as one of the leading departments in the Arts faculty. It was established in June 1999 for undergraduate students and later expanded to include postgraduate programs in June 2018.In addition to this, the Department runs Certificate Courses,such as Soil Conservation and Water Conservation. Experienced Faculty of the department is devoted to quality teaching and research. Extra care is taken to pay individual attention to the students in their laboratory work, lecture sessions, field work and study excursions, project work, study tours, seminars are key factors to develop innovative and analytical approach among the students. With a focus on excellence in education and research, the Department of Geography aims to prepare students for successful careers in various fields related to Geography.

Objectives of the Department:
The specific objectives of the Geography department are:
• Practical knowledge to the students would be able to understand the cartographic techniques and statistical methods and represent the geographical information by diagrams and maps.
• Prepare students for professional positions in government and other organization.
• Prepare students for to solve regional geographical and environmental problem.
• Develop awareness and appreciation of the ethnic cultural, economic and political diversity of human society and its geographical expression.
• To prepare students for save ground water as well as storage water.
• To make the students aware aboutenvironment.
